Pilates and back pain Control of the deep abdominal muscles plays an integral part in the health of your back. Those with a history of lower back pain have been shown to have diminished strength and control in the muscles that stabilise the spine. Isolating and strengthening these muscles in a controlled way can dramatically improve day to day function and reduce the frequency and intensity of back pain.
Are the classes right for me? All classes at Freshwater Physio are conducted in small groups and run by physios to ensure close supervision of each participant. Pilates suits those with injuries as well as those looking for general strength and health benefits.
